Meet Billy...
Jethro's Anipal Sanctuary, Inc. welcomes Billy!!!
Billy comes from the Mobile Alabama shelter when they broke a dog fighting ring and took in dozens of dogs.
Billy was to be put to sleep to make room for these dogs.
Thankfully the shelter called Andrea and she answered the call for help, as she always does.
Billy is a chocolate dachshund, with a wild look about him.
He is intact, so neutering will take place very soon.
Billy was taken to the shelter because his family was moving and couldn't take him. Or wouldn't?...
He was at the shelter for several days and was severely depressed, not eating anything and shaking non-stop.
He is guessed to be 5 years old and weighs approximately 11 pounds.
Once Billy has time to gain his confidence back and to feel comfortable in being loved,
he will be evaluated and possibly be available for adoption.
In the meantime, he has been welcomed into the Sanctuary by the Anipals and is settling in nicely.
We hope to very quickly see the crazed look in his eye soften and trust take its place!
If you are inclined to help with his care, please visit our donate page.
Thank you for your support of the Sanctuary and Welcome to Billy!!!
Check the Sanctuary Blog for updates and new pictures of Billy!
Update:
Billy is making himself at home... he hopped in the dryer after mom took warm towels out !!!
And the crazy scared look has gone away... he KNOWS he is wanted.
Meet Jaxon...
Jethro's Anipal Sanctuary, Inc. also welcomes Jaxon!
Jaxon was also rescued from the shelter in Mobile Alabama for the same reason as Billy.
He is a black and tan dachshund, around 5 years old and approximately 11 pounds.
He was left at the shelter because he had allergies.
The vet couldn't figure out what his allergies were a result of, and his people were tired of paying the vet bills.
He, like Billy, was going to be put to sleep.
He is a scared little boy, but is warming up with the help of the welcoming Anipals and their mom, Andrea.
Like Billy, we will give Jaxon some time to settle in,
gain some confidence and trust, and then evaluate him to see if adoption is an option for him.
If you are inclined to help with his care, please visit our donate page.
Thank you for your support of the Sanctuary and Welcome to Jaxon!!!

Meet Pongo and Perdita...
Jethro's Anipal Sanctuary welcomes Pongo and Perdita !
Both blind, both deaf, both double dapple dachshunds...
both results of uneducated, irresponsible breeding.
They are approximately 8 weeks old, left at the Wynne Friends of Animals in Wynne, Arkansas.
They were transported to Mississippi where they will blossom in Andrea's care.
Their bond to each other goes beyond siblings, they depend on each other.
They are settling in nicely... follow their story on the Blog.
If by chance, a perfect forever home presents itself for Pongo and Perdi, they will be adopted together.
If you are inclined to help with their care, please visit our Donate page.
Thank you for your support of the Sanctuary and Welcome to Pongo and Perdita !!!
Meet Sigmund...
Siggy for short!
Siggy was originally adopted from a shelter, and had a very bad reaction to the man of the house.
Raised voices put him in a state of absolute terror.
He was adopted to a new home with a baby.
The toddler grabbed Siggy while he was sleeping and he bit the baby.
The skin was broken, and animal control was called to put Siggy to sleep.
Gulf Coast Dachshund Rescue intervened and Siggy came to Andrea in Mississippi to join the Sanctuary Anipals.
Welcome Sigmund!!!!!
Check the Anipal Sanctuary blog at www.anipalsanctuary.org for updates on Siggy!
If you are interesting in helping take care of Sigmund, please go to our donate page!!!
We appreciate any and all help - we can't do this without you!
Update on Siggy:
- Mommy Andrea says that he is one of the sweetest dogs that she has met.
He is doing well with all his fur-brothers and sisters!!!
- Siggy is appalled at the idea of pooping in the house, and is insistent that he goes outside!
- Mommy Andrea keeps thinking Siggy has something in his eye - LOVE the part blue eye!
